Kroc Swim School



Students are introduced to and taught to feel comfortable in the water. They will learn safe, elementary level water skills that will provide a base for advanced training. For ages 3-5.


Students are introduced to water safety and begin to learn basic swim techniques and skills with guided support. For ages 5-9.


Students learn basic self-help rescue skills, as well as fundamental skills such as floating without support. For ages 5-11.


Students will begin basic stroke patterns, including front and back crawl, and refine skills such as treading water. Must be able to complete all skills in Levels 2. Must be able to float on stomach and back WITHOUT assistance. For ages 5-11.



Students develop competitive stroke skills and begin lap swimming. Level 3 advancement is required. For ages 7-17.



Advanced Students proficient in all competitive strokes are coached to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. For ages 7-17.








Teens tend to progress quicker so we would like to provide them with their own class. This class is specifically designed to move a little faster, while still covering all phases of swimming for safety and fun. Ages 12-17.


There is no level or skills requirement for the adult swim lessons, we will adjust class to meet the individual needs of the class and work at a comfortable pace in a safe environment. Ages 18+.


Students will begin to develop confidence in basic water skills and progress to other fundamentals. For ages 18+.








From beginners to experienced lake-goers, The Kroc Center has swim lessons for every stage of your child's swimming experience. .


The Kroc Aquatic Swim School lessons are waiting for you! Unless otherwise noted, youth level lessons & adult level lessons last 30 minutes. Most classes are held with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 participants. There will be no refunds after completion of week 1. There are no makeups for missed classes unless canceled by Kroc Center. Participants cannot change from weekday class to weekend class, but you may enroll in both and get two classes per week with each class being a separate charge. Lifeguarding Courses and Prerequisites

Learn how to effectively prevent and respond to water emergencies with the American Red Cross lifeguard training. Our courses are designed to arm you with the skills and knowledge to prepare you for a variety of scenarios in and around the water. With our lifeguard training, you will learn how quick response times and effective preparation are vital to being a lifeguard while also understanding the crucial elements in helping to prevent drownings and injuries. Our detailed training includes both testing of hands-on skills as well as comprehension on written tests. The certification, which includes First Aid, CPR and AED training, is valid for two years upon completion.

Prerequisites for lifeguard training include:

• Students must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class

• Students must pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking lifeguarding courses

12 lap swim Test, Treading Water for 2 minutes no Hands and 20 Yard Swim-7ft Dive to retrieve 10lb Brick and Swim on your back 20 yards to beginning and jump out of the pool in One minute 40 Seconds.


The Camden Kroc Center offers the following course options for Lifeguard training:


Lifeguarding: Full Course – This option is for those training for the first time or for those whose certifications have expired. This course is available in traditional, in-person course format (25 hours, 20 minutes)


Lifeguarding: Blended Learning course format (19.5 hours in person, 7.5 hours online). Students who successfully pass their swim pre-requisite will be entered into the class where they will be given a link to the America Red Cross training site where they will complete online course and testing requirements before coming to class on Saturday and Sunday where we will continue the course with in person hands on training and skills with a Lifeguard Instructor.

Swim Team Training is an “off season” program created to condition swimmers and to prepare them for summer swim team. This program will consist of two components. Monday component will consist of technical training and strength and conditioning. Wednesday component is a designed workout to develop swimmers strength, endurance. Participants must be proficient in level 3 and swim one full non-stop lap to be eligible for this program.  Swim Meets will not be included in the program.


Kroc Summer Swim Team competes in the Suburban Swim League of South Jersey. The Swim Team Program provides children with the ability to develop their swimming techniques, competitively swim, and also learn how to become a part of a team. The Kroc Center Swim Coaches are preparing for a fun and competitive summer swim season! A start date will be announced soon.
